Music room

General presentation

The music section offers access to two fully-equipped rooms for individual or band practice, in which several musical instruments are available (drums, guitar, bass guitar, piano, keyboard/synthesizer) with the appropriate sound equipment (mixing desk, speakers, amplifiers for instruments), as well as recording equipment (microphones in particular).

These 2 rooms allow :

  • to come and practice with a music band;
  • to come and practice instrument(s) that some of us not always lucky enough to have at home (i.e. some doctoral students/post-doctoral fellows do not have the means to bring their equipment back to their accommodation in the region);
  • to organize jam sessions that allow several agents to gather around a musical style or theme;
  • to create music bands between agents who wish to do so;
  • if necessary, during internal or external events (e.g. music festival), to quickly set up one or more Inria groups to perform at these events;
  • to make amateur recordings (demos).

Equipment can be loaned for use outside Inria (without restricting the local use of the music room).
